My name's Natalie Solomon (pronouns she/her), I'm a Haarlem based portrait photographer specializing in colorful, real moments.
Background
I’ve been fascinated by moments capture in time as long as I can remember. As a child I loved looking through photo albums with my grandparents, watching their faces light up as they reminisced. They were able to recall sights, smells, emotions…all from a photo? It felt like magic.
I got my first camera when I was 13 and immediately started taking pictures of everything (and I mean EVERYTHING; you should see the photo I took of a cow trying to eat my camera in 2008!). I started shooting professionally at 16, and found Opia Glow Photo in 2017.
‘Opia’ means “the ambiguous and intense feeling of looking someone directly in the eye, which can feel both vulnerable and invasive.” I recognize that most people don’t really like getting their picture taken, so I’ve made it my goal as a photographer to help people feel safe and maybe even (GASP) have fun during their photoshoot! I want to bring a ‘glow’ to your ‘opia',’ if you will :)
